Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Pace Edwards PowerGate Electric Trailer Lock. This is going to mount on the inside of your tailgate and it's going to wire to your truck's door locks so that when you lock the doors on your truck it will also lock your tailgate. So when you pair this with a tonneau cover or a truck bed cap, this will add a lot of security to your system, make sure that anything that you have in your bed can stay there. So this kit is designed specifically for your 2007 through 2021 Toyota Tundra. So if you have a Tundra, this is the kit that you're gonna need to be able to utilize your truck's power locks to also lock your tailgate.
This kit is going to come with everything you need to get it installed, as well as instructions to walk you through that installation process, so that you make sure that you have it installed properly. The way this works is the solenoid to block the handle from being lifted, all I can see happening is the handle breaking. The solenoid should lock/unlock the actual lock cylinder (if equipped). Wiring diagram for 2013 Toyota Tundra is poor, so I haven’t hooked it up yet.
Now I can feel safe that my tonneau cover will be locked. There's no key whole, so nothing to Jimmy. Very protected. Also, the lock actuator feels and sounds very sturdy and capable.

I feel like there could of been an install video. Would have made the process easier to grasp.
P.S. follow the instructions step by step; they are very insightful into the car model and all its intricacies.
Just the part I needed and it was very helpful to have a real person pick up the phone when I called to ask questions. AND my tailgate locks perfectly now! Wish I had ordered sooner but at least I can check that job off my "to do" list.
we were able to install the product just fine, but it doesn't work properly. it only goes one way. We spent hours going over the wiring and everything was correct, the unit just didn't work correctly. we finally gave up. the product is still on the truck but is not being used.
Doesn't appear to fit for 2017 F-150, but instructions were so blurry and smudged when it arrived so its effectively useless for actually following for the install.

Went together like a dream. So easy because it is well-engineered and the fitment is precise. It went in under an hour as the wiring to the electrical was already there due to a failed prior install.
This item worked on my truck. Had a little problem with the installing of the lock. Had to ajust the lock rod on the passenger side of the tailgate, for clearance for lock to fit, and work smoothly. Works Great now.
PART WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE AN EXISTING PACE EDWARDS POWERGATE ELECTRIC TAILGATE LOCK.

Hey Kyle, I went through all reviews I could find and no one has mentioned anything breaking. I do see some people talking about the install instructions are not as clear as they could be though.
